The report outlines the proceedings of the Zimbabwe Alternative Mining Indaba (ZAMI), held from the 10th to the 12th of October 2018, at Holiday Inn, in Bulawayo. The Seventh edition of ZAMI was held under the theme: “Accountable and Transparent Governance of Mineral Resources: Safeguarding Development Interests of Local Communities in Mining Sector Reforms’. The Indaba brought together stakeholders interested or affected by the mining industry. The Seventh Edition of ZAMI was a build up from District and Provincial Alternative Mining Indabas that were held in various parts of the country. The Indaba was characterised by frank and open discussions on matters affecting the industry. Furthermore, there was presentation of a drama by a mining community depicting the challenges experienced by mining communities in general. The participants also had an opportunity to interact with legislators on policy issues pertaining to the mining sector. On the last day of the Indaba a declaration was pronounced and adopted by the delegates.
